Jugoton Bossa Nova
Description
The rich musical history of Yugoslavia reveals a long-standing love for Latin American music. Steeped in Afro-Cuban rhythms, dance halls swayed, rocked, and swung, bringing together musicians who played in jazz bands and orchestras, notably in Ljubljana, Zagreb, and Belgrade. Jazz could be heard on the streets of Split as early as 1919, when dance became a symbol of freedom. The radio was the most cherished household item, new sheet music was in high demand, and record collecting was fashionable, just as it is today. In the aftermath of World War II, jazz went underground, but gradually things changed, and Ella, Satchmo, Dizzy, and Miles came to visit us, among others.Buy Jugoton Bossa Nova at the best price
