At the end of the 80s, some members of Ampyre were already part of groups such as Tindale Creek, Silk'n'Steel or Dark Haze, which had released several albums. With singer Elke Grotzinger, who still ignites stages today with FRONTROW WARRIOR, the band made a perfect take. They thus got off to a good start in the Stuttgart region and sold out venues, despite strong competition. The band spared no expense for the 5-track demo produced at Marquee Studio, which yielded a very professional result. Musical talent and perfect composition for this style should have ensured success, but in 1991, the musical landscape changed and melodic metal had to face competition from grunge, crossover, thrash metal and death metal. The label Golden Core made these recordings accessible for the first time and reviews in magazines such as Rock Hard or Break Out were fantastic. Sacrifice, from Switzerland, emerged in 1984 with a self-produced single, then secured a contract with the music publishing house GAMA. "On The Altar Of Rock" was released in 1985 under the GAMA Camel label and allowed the band to carve out a place in the heavy rock scene of the time. What makes this album so appealing is its blend of melodic hard rock and heavy metal. Skillful compositions with many catchy choruses are combined with great musical talent. The reissue on Golden Core includes as a bonus the two rare tracks from the 12" single and has been remastered. At the end of the 70s, The Teens was on the rise and dominated youth magazines such as Bravo. Of course, it wasn't long before competition appeared. Speedy was an authentic band that was discovered while rehearsing in their practice space. Shortly after, their first single "Willy Is Back" was produced by Didi Zill (Birth Control, The Nighthawks), also known as a photographer for Bravo. The band managed to secure a spot on the cult show Ilya Richer's Disco. This led to the first and unfortunately only album "Much Too Young To Rock'n'Roll" and the single of the same name with the hit "Fight Like A Fighter" on the B-side. Both tracks were broadcast again on television (in a holiday special with Karl Dall and for the second time on the Disco show) - the Speedy topic was hot! Unfortunately, the parents of the underage musicians opposed a tour with Def Leppard, which ended their career. The reissue also includes as a bonus the songs that were only available as singles.
