Confessin' the blues
Description
« Confessin' The Blues » brings together the greatest Bluesmen of all time and offers a perfect teaching of the genre. The choice of songs was made by the Rolling Stones in collaboration with BMG and Universal Music. In the collective memory, the Rolling Stones have always been fans and followers of Blues long before the start of their career up to their latest album to date « Blues & Lonesome », which illustrated their interpretations of classic Blues songs, most of which appear here in their original version. Mick Jagger was one of the first fans of Blues: « The first real successful album by Muddy Waters 'Muddy Waters At Newport' was the first album I bought ». As a disciple of the genre, the Group and BMG decided that 10% of the proceeds from the sale of this album would be donated to the Blues Heaven Foundation of Willie Dixon. « Confessin' The Blues » features tracks from the greatest pioneers of Blues such as Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Elmore James, Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Big Bill Broonzy, and Robert Johnson. All these artists had a significant impact on the Rolling Stones, whether on Keith's guitar riffs or on Mick's vocals and lyrics. As Ron Wood says, « This is how Mick and Keith first connected on the train back from University. They admired each other's record collections and it was ... « Hey, you have Muddy Waters, you must be a good guy,... Come on! Let's form a band ». « Confessin' The Blues » will be available in the form of 2 CDs, Double Vinyl, and a 5x10'' vinyl bookpack. All these formats contain the sleeve notes from music journalist Colin Larkin, and a bookpack containing removable art cards from the famous Blues illustrator Christoph Mueller. The album cover is a tribute from the Stones' guitarist, Ron Wood, who added his personal touch to the project by painting his representation of the Bluesman. « Confessin' The Blues » is a true musical pedagogy from those who know the genre best: the world's greatest living band, The Rolling Stones.Buy Confessin' the blues at the best price
