After the success of The Mighty Diamonds' "Right Time," Channel One became Jamaica's go-to recording studio in 1972. The studio remained active until 1988. Many producers came to record there, from Augustus Pablo to Niney The Observer, Jack Ruby, Prince Jammy, and Bunny Lee. Most of the 1970s Riddims were recorded in this venue, with vocals being laid down at King Tubby's studio. Two of the best backing bands in Reggae history, The Revolutionaries and The Roots Radics, would follow one another there. This 36-track selection features the most important songs from this period and is an exhaustive introduction to the history of this famous studio, CHANNEL ONE. Special Limited Edition in GATEFOLD SLEEVE.
