Bella Ciao

Description

Bella Ciao was, in 1964, the first of the great fresco-like shows to make accessible the heritage of Italian folk songs collected in the field during the previous decade. Songs of work, struggle, political demands, but also simple serenades, brought together in a program that was not intended for specialists alone. This show gave an impetus to the folk revival movement in Italy. Here it is revisited by the leading names in traditional song today: Lucilla Galeazzi, Elena Ledda, Riccardo Tesi, Ginevra di Marco, Gigi Biolcati, Alessio Lega, Andrea Salvadori.
