Tthree jewels and rare pearls from the early 80s that seem even more exciting today than at the time. REQUIEM came from Stuttgart and offered a mix of hard rock, pomp rock, and progressive rock on their only album. Guitarist Tommy Clauss later became famous with bands like ZAR, which also included former Uriah Heep singer John Lawton. CANNOCK is a special case, as the band was founded by a few sons of Italian immigrants in the Stuttgart area. Cannock anticipated what Dream Theater, among others, would propose years later. An early version of prog metal, or a precursor to it. The same album was reissued by another label in 1985 under the title "Burning Lights," this time with a heavy metal style cover. LIMERICK, from Saarbrücken, recorded a single in 1980 that is now very rare. Their only album was released in 1983, with lyrics in German! Their powerful rock with dialect lyrics enjoyed great regional success, and the band performed concerts with Kim Wilde and Climax Blues Band. The band is active again today.
