Description

Schubert composed his two piano trios in B-flat, D. 898, and in E-flat, D. 929, as well as the charming Notturno, D. 897, at the height of his genius, shortly before his death at 31. These works uniquely blend the melancholy of farewell and the euphoria of music, with melodies as exhilarating as ever. Their fluid virtuosity perfectly illustrates the Viennese Romantic spirit, and gives a foretaste of paradise.
