Description

Mortem signs its return with Mørketid, the second studio album by the Norwegian extreme metal band, bringing together members linked to Arcturus, Thorns, Mayhem, and 1349. Originally formed in 1989 by Marius Vold and Steinar Sverd Johnsen, Mortem is among the pioneers of the Norwegian black metal scene, notably with the cult demo Slow Death, produced by Euronymous and illustrated by Dead, with Hellhammer on drums. Reactivated in 2019 with Ravnsvart, followed by the re-recording of Slow Death, the band continues its evolution here. Mørketid offers eight tracks blending massive mid-tempos, faster passages, and dark atmospheres, driven by Sverd's keyboards, Hellhammer's drums, and Marius Vold's vocals.
