Description

Created in 2004 by Thomas Eriksen, Mork has established itself over the years as one of the defining names in Norwegian black metal. Following the intense Syv in 2024, the project continues its evolution with Monolitt, an ambitious album that further deepens the band's sonic and atmospheric dimensions. Rooted in the cold traditions of Norwegian black metal while exploring vaster and more epic territories, Monolitt blends brutality, heaviness, and immersive atmospheres. The tracks address themes of destruction, isolation, and transformation through an introspective approach and grandiose imagery inspired by nature and mythology. Primarily recorded by Thomas Eriksen, the album also features contributions from drummer Asgeir Mickelson and guests such as Øyvind Kaslegard of Svart Lotus. Mixed by Børge Finstad and mastered by Jack Control as well as Maor Appelbaum, Monolitt further affirms Mork's place among the major figures of contemporary black metal.
