Description

The 3rd album from the leaders of the new Black Metal scene in Norway features the participation of Silenoz from Dimmu Borgir. Founded by Thomas Eriksen in Halden, Norway in 2004, initially as a simple side project until the release of the first album in 2013. Today, Mork is recognized as one of the best in the new Black Metal scene in Norway and enjoys the support and recognition of its peers! 'Eremittens Dal' is a tribute to the spirit of old-school Norwegian Black Metal bands. The album is primarily inspired by the work of Darkthrone and Burzum, with a very raw production and blood-curdling riffs, but with its own dynamics and particular atmospheres between ferocity and melancholy. The record covers themes of hatred, death, isolation, and misanthropy as suggested by the title: the valley of the hermit. While Nocturno Culto from Darkthrone contributed to the previous album, 'Eremittens Dal' includes the presence of Silenoz from Dimmu Borgir on two tracks as well as that of 1349's bassist, Seidemann, on one song. The album was recorded at the band's stronghold in Halden, at the Rottehullet studio, mixed by Freddy Holm at Studio Kleiva, and mastered in the USA at Enormous Door. The cover artwork is by Jannicke Wiese-Hansen, who has previously created artwork for older albums by Burzum and Satyricon.
