Originally recorded in 1986 with original drummer Mike Browning, this set-aside debut album is a fascinating opportunity to hear the American death metal icons Morbid Angel at an embryonic stage, featuring future classics like "Chapel Of Ghouls" and "Lord Of All Fevers And Plague" (simply titled "Lord Of All Fevers" here). Browning left the band shortly after the recording, later founding the legendary sci-fi death metal group Nocturnus, while Morbid Angel would recruit the ultra-fast percussionist Pete Sandoval for their first official album "Altars Of Madness," and the rest is history – but there is an undeniably supernatural energy captured on this rare recording that makes it a must-have for die-hard death metal fans.
