The jovial H’art Songs by Moondog was the first album not to include his name in the title, but the recording that forever proved his genius. This rare vocal album recorded by Moondog in his sixties features ten art songs that blur the boundaries between classical and pop music. Moondog called this series of art songs "H’art songs" - the art songs of Hardin. The musical content is at a higher level than most popular music, yet appeals to a wide range of tastes, from pop to the classical listener. This collection of piano pop songs written and recorded in 1977 made Moondog's eclectic discography even more musically chaotic. It also showcased some of his most fascinating wordplay.
