Montparnasse Musique is an EP with a daring blend of fresh and processed flavors; the acoustic grain of traditional Africa combined with the pulse of modern Johannesburg. Behind this eponymous EP is a mysterious duo, French-Algerian producer Nadjib Ben Bella and South African DJ Aero Manyelo.
Together, the transcontinental duo produces an electro-acoustic sound, laden with contagious and authentic hooks. They collaborate with Congolese bands Kasai Allstars, Konono N°1, Mbongwana Star, and Basokin on five daring dance tracks forged from the tribal rhythms and mystical voices of the Kasai rainforests. The final result is an inevitable evolution of Congotronics towards a sharp, club-ready sound.
