DARK SIDE OF THE SPOON/VINYLE NOIR AUDIOPHILE 180GR
Description
'Dark Side Of The Spoon' is the seventh studio album by industrial metal band Ministry, released in 1999. The song "Bad Blood" was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2000. The title draws on two theories (apparent in the lyrics of the opening track), the first being a simple pun, referencing Pink Floyd's record, 'The Dark Side Of The Moon'. The second refers to the blackened or dark side of a spoon when heated to dissolve heroin, as the band was suffering from addiction to the substance at the time. The album cover, depicting a large naked woman sitting in front of a blackboard with the inscription "I will be god" written repeatedly, fueled controversy and was banned from K-Mart stores. The woman and the words on the blackboard were subsequently airbrushed out. 'Dark Side Of The Spoon' is available as a limited edition of 1000 numbered copies on clear green vinyl. The package includes an insert.
