Initially conceived as three 10-inch records (a common format at the time), the sessions recorded between 1952 and 1954 for Blue Note were finally released commercially as two LPs in 1956. Always at the forefront of Modern Jazz, Miles Davis delivered with these two volumes a demonstration that would put the genius back at the center of the genre's chessboard, after some wandering in the throes of heroin. A true gem, ‘Miles Davis Volume 2’ is reissued as a 180-gram vinyl edition and remastered from the original tapes.
