BIRTH OF THE COOL/VINYLE AUDIOPHILE 180GR/2 BONUS TRACKS

Description

Avec : Miles Davis (trumpet), Lee Konitz (alto sax), Gerry Mulligan (baritone sax), J. J. Johnson (trombone), Al Haig (piano), Max Roach (drums), among others.
It was in 1948, as one of the most fruitful periods of his career within the quintet of saxophonist Charlie Parker was coming to an end, that Miles Davis began to form the nonet whose music compiled in this album would be known, many years later in 1957, as one of the most important albums of its time. Alongside him, a group of eight musicians like few studios have known, including trombonist J.J Johnson, saxophonists Lee Konitz and Gerry Mulligan, drummers Kenny Clarke and Max Roach, but also arranger Gil Evans, who would contribute to bringing the language of the bebop revolution into a completely different orchestral context. If "Birth Of The Cool" helped shape the sound of an entire generation of jazz musicians, the trumpeter soon turned his back on it, and released in 1960 "Kind Of Blue", which would again change the history of jazz. But the enchanted chemistry of these sessions has lost none of its unalterable magic.
