Ascenseur Pour L'echafaud / B.O.F.

Description

In 1957, in Paris, American trumpeter Miles Davis recorded the soundtrack for Louis Malle's first feature film, “Elevator to the Gallows,” in a single night. This profoundly altered the relationship between cinema and jazz music, which, until the 1940s and 1950s, had been very rarely used on screen and, so to speak, inaudible. Through this soundtrack, Miles Davis forever linked jazz and film noir.
