Expert Knob Twiddlers

Description

Remastered reissue + 7 bonus tracks + alternate versions: Mike Paradinas of U-siq and Richard James of Aphex Twin decided that two is never too many to shake up the conventions of techno once again. The album cover — showing the two crazies playing a game of 10 de chute — sets the tone: Expert knobs twiddlers is placed under the sign of relaxation and drunkenness. It starts with cocktail music with complicated rhythms, massive basslines and big heaps of stupid blips. And then they drink the cocktails, and their music takes a hit. They leave the bar, sample their burps, and then it’s Giant deflating football and its trombone loops. The alcohol fumes rise again and the track collapses into other bar noises. Out of strength, they stand against a wall and meow at the moon, it’s time to go to bed. Hilarious and sometimes dramatically stupid, Expert knobs twiddlers is one of the most exhilarating albums around; rarely has one felt so little excluded from what is above all a private joke.
