25 religious songs for ages 6-10. In catechesis, the purpose of the song is to introduce the child to the cultural body of the Church. It will be a song of memory. In liturgy, however, the song aims to open the child's heart to praise and supplication to the Other: "Breath of life, Spirit of God, breathe in our lives!" The songs on this album are catechetical or liturgical songs. All are religious songs. Furthermore, the 25 songs on this album are mostly intergenerational songs. They are written for ages 6-10 but can be sung by parents without embarrassment. Ultimately, these songs are ones we will love to sing - also - as a family. In catechesis, in liturgy, and at home. A home that sings is it not already the Church that sings?
