Les tontons flingueurs (et autres films de Georges Lautner)

Description

The “Écoutez le Cinéma” collection is celebrating its 20th anniversary by offering three exceptional new vinyl releases this spring. • François de Roubaix: Dernier domicile connu / Un aller simple Here is the remastered soundtrack of 'Dernier domicile connu' released for the first time on LP, coupled with that of 'Un aller simple.' 'Dernier domicile connu' features one of the most iconic themes by the brilliant François de Roubaix. A repetitive and haunting theme, "a bit like Bach but with a pop rhythm" as admitted by filmmaker José Giovanni. A theme that intensifies the endless investigation of the Lino Ventura-Marlène Jobert duo in a wintry and rainy Paris. • Michel Legrand: La Piscine 'La Piscine' represents the quintessence of Jacques Deray's cinema and his collaboration with Alain Delon. Musically, Michel Legrand composed an extraordinary score, featuring two solo voices, his own and his sister Christiane's, as the inner voices of Delon and Romy Schneider. Plus a mixed choir and Stéphane Grappelli's magical bow, balancing between baroque, pop, and jazz. "My intention," Legrand explained, "was to make people feel that a volcano is rumbling and could sweep everything away." Only released on LP in Japan, here is the remastered soundtrack of La Piscine on vinyl, from the original studio tapes. • Michel Magne and Bernard Gérard: Les Tontons flingueurs and other films by Georges Lautner Georges Lautner's dark humor, Audiard's words, and the charisma of Ventura, Blier, Blanche, and Mireille Darc left a lasting mark on French comedy of the sixties. Their musical equivalent is the extravagant music of Michel Magne. 'Les Tontons flingueurs' relies on a single theme, presented in multiple versions, notably as a piano-banjo gimmick for the recurring brawls. "Brilliant music on the verge of a prank," Lautner would say. Find on vinyl this highly original soundtrack and those of other Lautnerian fantasies of the era (Les Barbouzes, Galia, Fleur d'oseille), not forgetting Bernard Gérard's for 'Ne nous ne fâchons pas,' with its jerk 'Rosbif Attack,' which introduced English pop into French cinema.
