This program strongly rises against the idea of a so-called rivalry between the Conservatory and Schola Cantorum, a legend as vain as it is regrettable, moreover - as always - maintained more by the epigones than by the pioneers themselves... It also illustrates what the latter loved to draw from the knowledge of writing techniques inherited from both plainchant and a golden age of polyphony that some liked to say was "over."
