Made over several years, Once Within A Time evolved and quickly became an open book on the music of composer/singer Sussan Deyhim, and those of Glass, Mau Quiros and Tanner Poff. After composing all of Reggio’s major works, including the Qatsi trilogy, Visitors, Anima Mundi & Evidence, Glass composed a new score for this new universe that only Reggio could describe, using music and images – ranging from music played on a calliope (steam organ or steam piano) to the more classical Dies irae (Day of Wrath). With the Philip Glass Ensemble conducted by Michael Riesman, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, Menaker, Nathann Koci, Mark Atkins from the Sirit gallery, the Harlem School of the Arts, Tara Starling Khozein .
