Ouvertures d'opéra

Description

Haydn's operas are very rarely performed nowadays even though they were very popular in his time, far beyond the Esterházy palace.
They are very varied - from dark fantasy dramas to joyful works - one of which even includes a character duped into believing he is on the Moon. These overtures offer carte blanche to Haydn's musical talent and dramatic gift, summarizing in miniature the emotional palette of the entire operas.
