The band's descriptors include: bold, flavorful, playful, sincere, optimistic, insightful. Loss Of Life was produced by MGMT and Patrick Wimberly (Solange, Lil Yachty, MGMT), with additional mixing and production by Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Interpol, Spoon). The album features MGMT's very first song with a collaboration with Christine and the Queens. The album cover was licensed from the estate of John Baldessari and is a cover titled Noses & Ears, Etc. (Part Two). Formed in 2002, MGMT released their debut album Oracular Spectacular in 2007. One of the most influential albums of the 2000s - it has sold over 2 million copies worldwide and has been certified gold or platinum in more than 10 major territories, including double platinum in the UK, platinum in Australia, gold in France, and platinum in the United States. It gave the world timeless hits such as "Kids," "Electric Feel," and "Time to Pretend," which have inspired, and continue to inspire, new generations of artists and music fans to this day - these three songs combined have been streamed over 2 billion times on audio streaming platforms since their release. Always taking an unexpected creative turn with each new album while maintaining their cultural and commercial relevance over the following 15 years, MGMT subsequently released three more studio albums: "Congratulations" (2010), "MGMT" (2013), and "Little Dark Age" (2018).
