The queen of indie, formerly a member of the band The Delgados, ends more than five years of absence and returns with a third album, In Search Of Harperfield. The title refers to the first home of EMMA POLLOCK's parents and the theme, almost autobiographical, is that of a woman searching for the meaning of her origins. A pastoral album filled with both childhood memories and a deep retrospective related to life, love, and family. The narration is multiple and deeply rooted in the past. Musically, POLLOCK sticks to the pop melodies and elegant writing of her beginnings while stretching percussive sounds, creating a dark atmosphere reminiscent of the title Old Ghosts. A few brighter gems run through this record like the fresh and sparkling Parks and Recreation, the playful Vacant Stare, or the sweet and haunting The Company of The Damned.
