What the you mean I can't sing

Description

"What the... you mean I can't sing ? ! " is the fourth studio album by the committed artist (director, author, musician...) Melvin Van Peebles. Released in 1974, this album marks the first effort for music with sung lyrics. Before the recording of this album, Van Peebles had released three albums with spoken lyrics, which were considered spoken word at the time. Modern critics have since recognized these albums as precursors to hip-hop music. Van Peebles wanted to record this album to demonstrate that he could compose in a more traditional form, as opposed to the style he had used on his previous albums.
