"Lovely Difficult" is the fourth album by Mayra Andrade, a young artist revealed very early by the scene and who, in 2005, at only 20 years old, embodied the renewal of Cape Verdean music. Based in Paris for 11 years and touring the stages of the world, Mayra is not just a neo-traditional singer: she draws from the influences of all the countries she has traveled through since her childhood, enriching herself with her many artistic encounters to open her music to all cultures and all styles. Mayra Andrade is indeed a world artist of 2013, that is to say from all over the world, playing with stylistic and linguistic boundaries, reflecting her life. In her new album, Mayra composes, writes, and sings in the 4 languages she practices. Surrounded by her most loyal lieutenants (Kim Alves and Zé Luis Nascimento), she also calls on friends from diverse backgrounds who all responded to create beautiful songs for her: Yael Naim and David Donatien, Piers Faccini, Tété, Benjamin Biolay, Hugh Coltman, Krystle Warren, Pascal Danae, Mario Lucio Sousa. All produced by Mike Pelanconi (Lily Allen, Graham Coxon), who did not hesitate to energize the tracks with his partner Omar, the English soulman. A prodigy of balance.
