The three sonatas presented here were all created with their composer at the piano, accompanied, for two of them, by prestigious violinists: Georges Enesco for Ravel, and Ginette Neveu alongside Poulenc. Debussy, on the other hand, entrusted the execution of the violin part to Gaston Poulet, a young and brilliant quartet player, who, over half a century of career as a violinist and conductor, would dominate the stage, thus justifying Claude's discernment in France.
