Colette Maze offers us her fifth CD, created at the age of 105. She is a proponent of the Cortot method, which is based on flexibility, relaxation, and touch, taught at the École normale de musique de Paris. A great lover of romantic music, particularly of Robert Schumann, she has long excelled in interpreting the works of Claude Debussy, which she explored in her first four albums. She presents, among other pieces, the last piano works of Claude Debussy, Élégie and Les soirs illuminés, as well as the very impressionistic Oiseaux tristes by Ravel. She rediscovers the Sixth nocturne by Gabriel Fauré, which she played in her youth, and presents her interpretation of the mythical pieces by Erik Satie: the Gymnopédies and the Gnossiennes. She is accompanied by the young and talented Chinese pianist Zhenzhen to perform Satie's Trois morceaux en forme de poire. This colorful range perfectly symbolizes Colette Maze's unwavering enthusiasm for playing the music that makes us dream and enchants us. This passion is certainly the key to her eternal youth.
