Good Trouble by Matt Wilson honors not only the late Representative Lewis but also celebrates Wilson's 60th birthday and marks his 14th release as a leader for Palmetto Records. It also features a superb new quintet, also named Good Trouble, with alto saxophonist Tia Fuller, tenor saxophonist and clarinetist Jeff Lederer, pianist and vocalist Dawn Clement, and bassist Ben Allison. The centerpiece of Good Trouble is the three-part suite, written by Wilson following the passing of Representative Lewis and the equally inspiring Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, taking to heart the works of John Lewis. Wilson stated, "Representative Lewis was such a worthy leader." Whenever he spoke, he showed so much integrity, clarity, and honesty with no trace of bitterness, despite everything he faced in his life. He was a remarkable human being.
