This album is the O.S.T. (Original Soundtrack of the Book) of « L’homme qui écoutait battre le cœur des chats » (Albin Michel on 12.03.25) and of its stage adaptation (on tour from spring 25)
I dreamed of a pocket musical, with cats and ghosts.
It is the story of a couple who lost an unborn child. The almost-mother narrowly escaped with her life. She no longer wants a child. The almost-father’s desire, on the other hand, remains intact. That is the book’s central issue. The cats act as consoling arbiters.
So there are covers, which would punctuate the narrative. Echo songs, the musical stations of this story.
A true laboratory for creating cinematic songs shared with Mike (guitarist of Dionysos, on arrangements) and the singers Daria Nelson (who embodies the female cat) or Alice On the roof who brings the ghosts of this story to life.
The entire project works like a Russian doll. A game with the book as the mother house, the stage adaptation inside it and at its heart, the songs.
But the three objects, book, album, show remain autonomous. If the experience of the three works like revealing baths, all entry points are possible.
