Emperor of sand

In this myth that tells the story of a man sentenced to death by a Sultan in a desert as majestic as it is sinister, the Atlanta group - Troy Sanders (bass/vocals), Brent Hinds (guitar/vocals), Bill Kelliher (guitars) and Brann Dailor (drums/vocals), weaves a musical odyssey in which the protagonist flees his sentence by invoking ancestral powers. "Emperor of Sand is the Reaper," admits Dailor. "The sand represents time. When one of your loved ones receives the diagnosis of an incurable disease, the first thing that comes to mind is time. How much time is left?" To capture this vision, it is producer Brendan O'Brian, who had already collaborated with the group for their cult Crack The Skye, who worked with the band. The result is a deep spectrum of emotions, raised by versatile guitars and Brann Dailor's skillful drumming, which will hold a special place in the discography of Mastodon fans.
