AN HYPNOTIC DIVEINTO THE JOUJOUKA SOUNDRECORDED AT THE CENTRE POMPIDOU IN 201650 years after the release of their firstalbum, Brian Jones presents the Pipes ofPan at Joujouka, the Master Musicians ofJoujouka are releasing an impressive doublevinyl, recorded at the Centre GeorgesPompidou in Paris in 2016, as part of theBeat Generation exhibition. These recordingsare an hypnotic dive into the Joujouka soundwith a first side of flutes and percussion,followed by a series of songs performed on themountain violin (kamanja) by the virtuosoAhmed Talha, accompanied on vocals byAbdeslam Boukhzar, who has since passedaway since the recording. Finally, the lasttwo sides feature the continuation of"Boujeloud" (45 min.), recorded on disc forthe first time.
