It's in Lugano, a beautiful historic city in Italian Switzerland, that Martha Argerich, like Sviatoslav Richter before her, set up her piano, far from the international music capitals. It was there that in June 2002 the 1st edition of this festival joyfully subtitled "carte blanche to Martha Argerich" took place. Warner Classics today brings together for the first time in a 22 CD box set all her live recordings in Lugano, either solo or accompanied by exceptional chamber musicians such as Renaud Capuçon, Stephen Kovacevich, Mischa Maisky, Gautier Capuçon, Gidon Kremer, Maria João Pires, Gabriela Montero, Mikhail Pletnev, Maxim Vengerov... A goldmine for piano lovers, led by "the lioness of the piano" and a lineup of stars in the festive atmosphere of concerts.
