Here is something to make the heart of every piano lover and admirer of the great Martha Argerich race: previously unreleased youth recordings, from radio captures made for NDR and WDR (German radios) in 1960 and 1967. Opening the celebrations of the pianist's 75th anniversary on June 5, 2016, this release adds to her discography sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven, as well as Prokofiev's 3rd sonata. These recordings illustrate the young virtuoso in her very first recording of Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit and her Sonatine, as well as Prokofiev's Sonata No. 7, full of verve and mystery. They demonstrate the eloquence and imagination Martha Argerich had at the age of 18, already at the height of her art.
