Description

The Italian singer and songwriter Marta Del Grandi returns with her new album Selva. This album was mainly written on the road and in Berlin, and when the time came to record, Marta turned to her old favorite spots in Ghent (Belgium). Co-produced by Bert Vliegen (Sophia, Whispering Sons) and bringing together a quartet of musicians who have collaborated with Marta since 2015, the sessions resulted in an avalanche of creative ideas and one of the most relaxed experiences ever experienced by the artist, perfect conditions for her growth as a singer-songwriter.
Beams of light permeate each track of Marta Del Grandi's album. Vocal drones overlap, creating a cathartic collision of soft and sharp textures, as if to guide us hand in hand through the universe of the Italian artist. This project is of blinding ambition, and the result is there to prove it: 12 songs of ethereal and tentacular pop, alive, immense, and perfectly illuminated. The album is a clever succession of refined pop tracks that unfold effortlessly, combining emotional complexity, divine organic arrangements, and a sci-fi finale. She presents herself with the ambition to offer a whole new universe, her own ecosystem, where the strength of her voice alone is the pillar to lean on.
