On August 10, 2004, Mark Lanegan released "Bubblegum." Co-written with PJ Harvey, Josh Homme and Nick Oliveri of Queens of the Stone Age, and Greg Dulli of The Afghan Whigs, "Bubblegum" is Mark Lanegan's biggest success, notably reaching the 39th spot on the Billboard independent albums chart. Like the tortured rock of "Amphetamine Blues," these fifteen tracks immerse us in a melancholic universe so dark that it becomes romantic. Released twenty years ago, this album showcases Mark Lanegan's talent and artistic depth. To celebrate the anniversary of this release, Beggars Arkive is reissuing the album in a remastered 2LP edition, as well as in a 3CD edition and a special 4LP box set with over 40 tracks, including 12 unreleased ones.
