LibÃģn, Felipe : 30 Caprices

Description

Violinist Mario Pérez releases the first complete recording of the 30 Caprices by Felipe Libón (1775-1838), on IBS Classical. This project highlights a major but little-known figure of the Spanish violin. Born in Bayonne and died in Paris, a disciple of Giovanni Battista Viotti, Libón established himself as one of the most refined violinists of his time. Active in Lisbon, Madrid and Paris, he was admired for his elegance, precision and the warmth of his playing.Playing a Stradivari violin and among the first to adopt the modern Tourte bow, he combines classical elegance with a virtuosity foreshadowing Paganini.
