The title, which includes the word "dance," is a play on words symbolizing both the rebirth of once-forbidden folk dances and Cape Verde's adoption of urban popular music from Angola, Congo, Guinea, Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal. A decidedly festive album, in which Mario Lucio revisits the early days of independence, a time from his childhood filled with joy and music.
