For the fifth volume of this integral collection of Bach's organ works, we leave the world of chorales and the historical instruments of Thuringia to explore the concertos after Vivaldi, the Fantasies and Fugues, and the Passacaglia in C minor, which will be recorded in March and April on two magnificent recently crafted instruments. The transparent tones and polyphonic qualities of these instruments, along with the delicacy of their touch, will best convey the Italian flair of the concertos and fantasies, as well as the spiritual depth and eloquence of a broad wordless discourse in the Passacaglia.
