The original score of El Prometeo is kept at the Leopoldine Library in Vienna. It dates back to 1669 and is the first opera by Antonio Draghi, a composer and singer, particularly known for his work in the operas of Cavalli. For the first time in history, an Italian composes to a text in Spanish. The last act of El Prometeo has been lost, but since the libretto for this act has been preserved, Leonardo García Alarcón decided to completely rewrite the music. "I immersed myself in Draghi's music to understand his style, the intervals he favors, the type of melody he composes, and the kind of continuo he prefers, in an attempt to create a score that is worthy of him. I hope that this third act will live up to his music, his intentions, and his creation!" says the Argentine conductor, who, leading a brilliant cast (Fabio Trümpy, Mariana Florès, Giuseppina Bridelli, Scott Conner, Borja Quiza, Zachary Wilder, Ana Quintans), brings this Baroque opera in Castilian back to life, seizing the opportunity to showcase his love for his native language, "an absolutely musical language!"
