Exceptional reissue meticulously restored in 24-bit/96Hz, produced by Abbey Road Studios from the original tapes. As in her first recital Callas in Paris recorded 2 years earlier, the diva performs (here) arias of varying intensities, colors, and moods, from the shadowy Marguerite of Berlioz to the brighter one of the Jewel Song by Gounod, and from the melancholic mezzo-soprano of Charlotte by Massenet to the coquette soprano of Manon by the same composer. "Simply an artist by sound sense of line, her sensitivity to the word, her control of timbre, and her mastery of the well complex art of interpretation, Callas," as Gramophone wrote in its review of this recital "so far surpasses all other singers of today, and the greatest of the past that she disturbs our tranquility!"
