Originally scheduled for release on 08/05 Samba ’68, released on Verve in 1968, allowed Brazilian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Marcos Valle to reach a wider international audience. Combining Brazilian rhythms with contemporary American orchestration, the album includes English versions of compositions co-written by Valle such as ‘So Nice (Summer Samba)’, ‘Chup Chup, I Got Away’ and ‘Safely In Your Arms’.
