Singer-songwriter and performer, Marc Jordan is best known for writing (with John Capek) the song "Rhythm of My Heart," the 1991 hit for Rod Stewart. Marc's songs have been recorded by Bonnie Raitt, Joe Cocker, Diana Ross, Cher, Chicago, Bette Midler, Natalie Cole, Kenny Loggins, Kim Carnes, and Manhattan Transfer, to name just a few.
But he has also had a nice solo career since 1977 and here offers us his 15th studio album!
"Rio Grande," the centerpiece of the album, is an anthem to what remains of the world. Wasted potential and unwavering hope coexist, and a mesmerizing solo by Grammy-winning trumpeter Randy Brecker crowns producer Lou Pomanti. The superb "Coltrane Plays the Blues" continues the penchant for mid-century jazz references.
Jordan is a Juno Award winner and a Genie Award winner, and in 2019, he was nominated for a Juno Award for his latest album Both Sides.
Marc Jordan plays guitar, keyboards, and also sings on this album. Many guests contribute bass, backing vocals, drums, harmonica, as well as piano, saxophone, trombone, and strings.
Randy Brecker appears on Trumpet (Solo) on tracks 2, 6, and 7.
