What has been the group's approach to try to surpass their previous creation? "We haven't really changed our approach because this first CD reflects who we are," explains Copland. "We listen to each other, we give each other space, both for ourselves and for the music, and we feel where the music wants to take us before we dive in. That said, we are developing and expanding what we do: we are pushing harmonic boundaries, especially in the two challenging pieces by Drew Gress; we are adding a free ballad by Robin Verheyen; we are incorporating layered rhythms, as in All That's Left; and we are deepening the intensity of the interaction."
