Mozart: Horn Concertos

The magic horn of Martin Owen pays tribute to Mozart! Considered one of the best horn players in Europe, Martin Owen performs as a soloist and chamber musician around the world. He currently holds the position of principal horn at the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Mozart composed multiple pieces for the horn. Martin Owen writes: "In this recording, we have tried to bring a more youthful vigor to the early works compared to the Concerto in D, which is in many ways a swan song for the composer, and in which I hope our interpretation demonstrates a greater depth of sound to express this phase of life. I was intrigued by the fact that in 1990, sixty measures of music were discovered at a Sotheby's auction, which later turned out to belong to the Rondo of concert, KV 371: it is a joy to be able to play the entirety of this work today!"
