Symphonies Intégrale

Description

Saint-Saëns wrote five symphonies between 1850 and 1886. The cycle begins with the Symphony in A, influenced by Mozart, but at the young age of 17, he composed his first numbered symphony, a work highly admired by Berlioz and Gounod. He evolved to his most popular piece in the genre, the revolutionary Symphony No. 3, which includes the organ and piano. This critically acclaimed cycle includes a series of atmospheric and dramatic tone poems, notably Phaéton and the ever-popular Danse macabre.
