L'arpa di Partenope

Description

Harpist Margret Kröll draws inspiration from the myth of Partenope, notably described by Padre Daniello Bartoli in 1659, as a starting point for a sound painting of Naples in the 16th and 17th centuries. With great knowledge, she introduces a very rare harp repertoire featuring compositions by Trabaci, Maque, Mayone, and Gesualdo. In light of the practice on historical instruments, this harp music remarkably stands apart from all the clichés of the genre!
