By joining Label Bleu today to release 'Vermeilles', a second album as ambitious as it is captivating, Rouge reaches a new milestone. While the essential ingredients from 'Derrière les paupières' are still present, the trio has undeniably gained maturity and collective mastery. Enhancing its resolutely acoustic discourse with a subtle use of electronics through refined collaborative arrangements, where even the slightest variation in colors, textures, or dynamics contributes to a true orchestral scenography, redistributing the place and role of each instrument within a constantly evolving compositional drama, the trio develops a series of atmospheric and ultra-melodic compositions that resemble evolving landscape paintings, capturing the most minute variations in the group's moods within very precisely drawn and defined frames. Transitioning from pulsed tracks with minimalist cottony grooves imbued with a kind of pop melancholy (Feu, Louves, Move in) to hybrid compositions with contrasting movements that subtly hint at classical music (Granit, Tempête) or even at chanson (the very beautiful 'Strawberries in the Dark', performed by British folk singer Kate Stables) — Rouge powerfully and skillfully reaffirms the uniqueness of its universe by continually refining the fundamentals of its music, which is both contemplative and sensory, constantly conveying more than what is played with precision and elegance in writing at every moment.
