Sentir Que No Sabes, the fourth solo album by Mabe Fratti in five years. Her work has always been imbued with a sharp sense of drama, capable of expressing a whole range of emotional states, and in this new album, she expresses the struggle to deal with various relationships or situations - and the actions that follow. Sentir Que No Sabes is urgent and clear, poppy, generous and accessible, while highlighting a considerable emotional background.
Written and recorded with her partner, multi-instrumentalist and co-composer Héctor Tosta (I.La Católica, Titanic), Sentir Que No Sabes is the result of an intense and meticulous process. Nourished by a newfound confidence gained in their joint project, Titanic, and its critically acclaimed 2023 LP, Vidrio, the two retreated into the familiarity of their studio (a.k.a. Tinho Studios) to develop the initial sound coordinates of her new album. "We talked, talked, talked about how to play and record, until things became inevitable," explains Fratti. "We recorded several demos in our home studio, which left us plenty of time to re-edit and experiment. We really dug deep. We focused on the details. Tosta also took the reins as producer and lead arranger for all additional instruments. The album was then completed at Willem Twee Studios in Den Bosch, Netherlands, and at Pedro y el Lobo Studios and Soy Sauce Studios in Mexico.
Sentir Que No Sabes is a record brimming with a modern pop sensibility, invoked by a kind of spirit that seizes everything it can find, repositioning sounds for the here and now.
